“In April of 2013, Clean Energy Design placed 15 solar panels on our roof in Barnstable. Tom and his team did a fabulous job, right from the start … including accompanying us before the Old King’s Highway Commission! That initial up-front investment was reduced over time by the absence of our former $1000/year electricity bills, by rebates and tax credits, and by Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs) — quarterly income from selling excess electricity. By the fall of 2018, we had broken even, and thereafter we became increasingly “money ahead!” Then in February of 2021, we replaced our Forester with an all-electric Chevy Bolt … and lo and behold, we eventually started to get small ($90-$120) electric bills.
