About Us
Clean Energy Design is actively involved in every aspect of the design, construction, installation and maintenance of solar photovoltaic, thermal and wind energy projects. We design, maintain and install renewable energy systems for commercial, residential, agricultural, educational, and municipal use. Our reliable and robust designs combined with our proven track record of existing systems, make us uniquely suited to designing renewable energy systems for the ever-changing climate of New England. Our company is changing the way people think about energy sources.
Team Experience
Clean Energy Design has been simplifying renewable energy for our customers since 1996. During that time we have helped hundreds of businesses, institutions, communities and individuals realize their goals of saving money and reducing their carbon footprint with custom- designed and well-integrated renewable energy systems that balance power requirements with budgetary concerns.
Thomas J. Wineman, Principal:
Clean Energy Design owner, Tom Wineman, brings fifteen years of comprehensive technical experience in renewable energy systems and energy efficiency and conservation to each and every solar and wind power installation. A score of successfully completed installations in institutional, educational and residential buildings attest to his capacity and quality of work. He is a specialist in site analysis, system design and installation of multiple renewable energy system types including photovoltaic, wind energy, solar thermal for cold climates interfacing with radiant heat and hydro-air, and hybrid systems. Tom is a founding member of both the Cape and Islands Renewable Energy collaborative (www.cirenew.org) and Clean Power Now (www.cleanpowernow.org), and he works closely with a half dozen more New England regional organizations dedicated to energy sustainability. Tom’s commitment is further demonstrated by his dedication to providing workforce training for renewable technologies. He has instructed a number of photovoltaic, solar thermal system and wind training workshops, and he recently served on the exam committee for the development of the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) solar thermal certification program.
