Clean Energy Design has been providing comprehensive education and workforce development training for renewable energy technologies in cooperation with URI, Cape Cod Community College and non-profit organizations such as Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve and Woods Hole Research Center. We have provided continuing education training workshops and seminars at the college and regional technical schools some of which were funded by an environmental technology grant from the National Science Foundation. See news story here in Cape Cod Today.
In Massachusetts several progressive clean energy laws were enacted in 2008: Including the MA Green Communities Act, Global Warming Solutions Act, and Green Jobs Act. These policies not only are reducing power plant pollution, they also helped spur the clean energy sector in MA to become one of the most progressive in the country for energy efficiency and renewables– creating more than 60,000 new clean energy jobs in MA alone. Here are a few pictures of Tom Wineman at URI’s GreenShare Day.
Tom’s focus is to develop renewable energy and to provide workforce training for renewable technologies. A tool CED has used for educational outreach is a renewable energy demonstration trailer which has been constructed for schools and events. The demonstration trailer includes a working wind turbine, solar photovoltaic and thermal systems.
CED is an advocate for supporting the local economy. Our staff hails from the community and we utilize local subcontractors and vendors whenever possible.
